Annoyed by the limited 140 character of tweets? Twitter just annouce that all of users can use 280 characters in tweets from now on.
As we have told before, Twitter Just launched a test that expanded the 140 character limit of tweets to 280 characters in September, but the test was just ongoing on a selected group of Twitter users. And now, the Twitter announce that this new feature starts to be available for all users after this successful trial run.
“During the first few days of the test many people Tweeted the full 280 limit because it was new and novel, but soon after behavior normalized (more on this below). We saw when people needed to use more than 140 characters, they Tweeted more easily and more often. But importantly, people Tweeted below 140 most of the time and the brevity of Twitter remained.” Aliza Rosen, Twitter product manager wrote in a blog post.
And according to the post and investigation from Twitter, they found such a fact that with 140 characters available, 9% of Tweets hit the limit, when it turns to 280 characters, 1% of Tweets hit the limit.
People already can use this new feature now, if you can’t find any change on your Twitter, you can update your app or refresh twitter.com on the web browser on PC.
