Amazon’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) facial recognition tool Rekognition wrongly identified 28 members of the U.S. Congress as police suspects, according to a test conducted by American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
ACLU said about this event on Thursday, three Democrats who were identified to participate in the test sent a letter to Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s chief executive, expressing their concern and worry about the accuracy of Rekognition and its use in the law enforcement. On the other hand, some Amazon employees also strongly suggested to company to stop selling this tool to the governments.
Currently, this event has been caused Amazon shares down 1.2% premarket to $1,841.50.
